Protesting against the continued injustice meted out to Tamil Nadu by the Kerala government in all inter-State water disputes, and the biased attitude of the Centre, the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) and like-minded organisations will block all roads to Kerala on Friday, said general secretary of the party Vaiko here on Thursday.
They will stage a token one-day blockade of roads to Kerala at Kande Gounden Chavadi, Vezhanthavazham, Anaikatti, Gopalapuram, Nadupuni, Vazhanthayamaram in Coimbatore, Cumbum, Kumuzhi, Bodimettu, Cumbum Mettu in Theni district, Sengottah in Tirunelveli district and Kazhiyakkavizhai in Kanyakumari district at 9 a.m. on May 28.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Vaiko said that the agitation was not against the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government in Tamil Nadu.
The objective was to convey the hurt sentiments and emotions of the people of Tamil Nadu to the Centre, Kerala government and the Supreme Court and make the people of Kerala realise that the attitude of their government would be detrimental to their interests as well.
