City Police Commissioner, C. Sylendra Babu said that as part of the various initiatives to decongest the city roads, the NH Road – Mill Road Junction to Sukrawarpet is being made an one-way and a trial implementation of this would be done on May 29.
A release said that vehicles will not be allowed to proceed towards Sukrawarpet from NH Road – Mill Road Junction.
Vehicles from Sukrawarpet towards NH Road to Mill Road will be allowed to ply as usual.
From the flyover, heavy vehicles should take the Goods Shed Road and proceed further.
Light Motor Vehicles and two-wheelers from flyover could proceed up to NH Road junction on Mill Road and from there vehicles will be diverted via NH road, VH Road, Idayar Street, R.G. Street, Sukrawarpet road and then proceed to Gandhipark or towards Northern side via Flower Market, Mettuppalayam Road.
Vehicles from Flower Market to Sukrawarpet will have to take the Theppakulam road, Lingappa Chetty Street, NH Road – Mill Road Junction and proceed further.
Vehicles from Oppanakkara Street bound for Western part of Coimbatore would have to take the Idayar Street, RG Street, Sukrawarpet Junction and proceed via Gandhipark or via Flower Market and Mettuppalayam road.
Vehicles from Oppanakkara Street towards flyover could take the Oppanakkara Steet, Mill Road and reach Avanashi Road flyover.
