Two shooters from Coimbatore - Omkar Singh and Harpreet Singh made the city proud after winning five gold medals and a silver medal for the country in the recently concluded Commonwealth Games at New Delhi.
Omkar Singh won as many as three gold medals - 50m free pistol, 100m air pistol singles and 100m air pistol double, while he also bagged a silver in 50m air pistol doubles category.
Another one from the same city, Harpreet Singh won a gold in 25m centre fire pistol in singles and doubles.
Both Omkar and Harpreet, who are working in IAF, returned to the city on Saturday along with coach Sanjay Tatti and were given a warm welcome at the airport by District Collector P Umanath and top IAF officials.
