Around 200 police personnel to take part in ‘Thozhamai Marathon'
Police personnel enrolling for the marathon being organised to mark the World Classical Tamil Conference by the Tamil Maiyam. City Police Commissioner C. Sylendra Babu (second right) is present.
Around 200 police personnel led by City Police Commissioner, C. Sylendra Babu will take part in the ‘Thozhamai Marathon' to be held on June 12 in view of the forthcoming World Classical Tamil Conference.
The run is being organised by True Value Homes in association with Tamil Maiyam and Bharathiar University.
Mr. Babu handed over the forms to personnel from Armed Reserve and City Police in the presence of K.N. Manivannan, Secretary, Tamil Maiyam, Coimbatore and Sekar, Co-ordinator of Tamil Maiyam.
The marathon is being organised in four categories: ten km for men from PRS Grounds via Anna Statue, KG Theatre, Race Course, Thomas Park, Puliakulam, Kovai Kidney Center, Lakshmi Mills, RTO Office and reach PRS Grounds.
The six km category for women would be from PRS Grounds, Anna Statue, KG Theatre, Race Course, Thomas Park, COSMO Club, Bishop Appasamy College, Avanashi Road Junction, Anna Statue, RTO Office and PRS Grounds.
The six km category for boys would be on the same route, the three km category for girls would be from PRS Grounds, Anna Statue, KG Theatre, Race Course, Bishop Appasamy College, Avanashi Road, Anna Statue, RTO office, Government Students Hostel and PRS Grounds.
The prize ranges from Rs. 50,000 to Rs 1,000 and there would be first to tenth prize in each category.
The run would be flagged off at 6.30 a.m.
