Over 700 items portraying the history, tradition and culture of Tamil race would be on display at the sprawling 35,000 square feet exhibition hall, as part of the World Classical Tamil Conference, starting here from June 23.
An audio visual presentation on Tamil and its tradition and culture, besides books display, would be the main attraction, at the exhibition, for which famous art director, Thotta Dharani was executing the designs, official sources said.
Nearly 120 publishers belonging to South India Book Publishers’ Association are expected to participate in the books exhibition, they said.
There was also plan to provide time and space for those, willing to display their talents in Tamil, like reciting ’Thirukkural.’ ISRO and World Tamil Research Centre are putting up stalls on their achievements, sources said.
Meanwhile, an air-conditioned dining hall and three food courts are getting ready for the conference.
Delegates and special invitees would have a 40,000 sq feet air-conditioned dining hall, with 18 counters and accommodate 1,500 at a time. An additional dining hall of 12,000 sq.ft, to accommodate 1,200 people is also being set up.
Six dining places, in a 36,000 sq ft area with 72 counters, are being readied near the Conference pandal. Two food courts with 56 counters are being set up.
One private food court, with 20 caterers would come up in a 56,000 sq ft area and 10 parking slots would have dining places in 4,000 sq feet area, the sources said.
