Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) will organise here Agri Intex 2010, an agricultural fair, from September 30 to October 3.
The association has entered into an agreement with Kisan Forum, a private company, in an effort to create awareness about the exhibition among a larger number of farmers.
CODISSIA president K. Ilango told presspersons here recently that the event usually attracted about 50,000 farmers.
With this tie-up at least a lakh farmers were expected to participate.
The exhibition would have 300 stalls. The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and Government Departments would participate.
Mr. Ilango said the objective of the agreement was to create awareness about the event to farmers across the State and those in Kerala and Southern Karnataka.
Kisan Forum would also be the web partner for the event. It would initiate a direct contact programme with farmers with the help of agricultural input dealers in rural areas. Kisan Forum would also create a data base of farmers and pre-register them for the event, he said.
